Field Service Technician Position Overview:
The Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining waste and recycling equipment. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, ensuring equipment is serviced to meet both company standards and customer expectations.
Field Service Technician Key Responsibilities:
Diagnostics & Repairs:
Perform diagnostic assessments and repairs on waste and recycling equipment, including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Maintenance & Preventive Care:
Conduct routine maintenance and preventive service to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
Customer Communication:
Interact with customers to explain issues, required repairs, and service timelines. Provide clear, professional recommendations.
Maintain accurate service records, including diagnosis, repairs, parts used, and time spent on each job. Submit reports to management as required.
Adhere to safety regulations and company policies, ensuring all work is conducted in a safe manner and in compliance with industry standards.
Properly handle and maintain tools and equipment used for service tasks. Report any issues or required repairs.

Proven experience as a Service Technician or in a related field. Strong mechanical aptitude and extensive knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems. Ability to diagnose and repair waste and recycling equipment. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently or with a team, and manage time effectively. Familiarity with safety protocols and best practices. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites as required.
