What we offer: Dematic Corporation is now hiring for a Regional Field ServiceTechnician. Under the direction of the Field Service Manager, thisposition provides service and repair as well as service andmaintenance training for installed Dematic systems and equipment.

As the Dematic representative in the Customer’s facility, thisposition has a heavy responsibility for maintaining customergoodwill toward Dematic. Primary objective is to ensure thatDematic systems have the greatest availability possible forCustomer use and to ensure that Customers are satisfied with theirDematic system and equipment. This role can be based anywherethroughout North America, preferably by nearby airport fortravel.

Qualifications:

Trade school graduate or two year Associates degree in amechanical, electrical, or mechanical technician program. Bachelorsdegree in Engineering preferred. Two years (minimum) experience in troubleshootingelectromechanical and/or mechanical equipment. Successful candidatemust have some working experience with material handling equipment.

Service experience with AGVS, AS/RS, or conveyors is highly prized. Must be willing to travel on short notice and spend more than80% of the time traveling. May be continuously away from home foras long as a month (offer travel expenses). Must be willing to be availible during off hours and travelaccordingly. Willingness to work weekends, holidays and off shifts. Must be able to act calmly in stressful situations. Must be able to write concise, clear, and complete trip reportsin the time frame required according to Dematic procedures. Must have knowledge in the use of personal computers for wordprocessing, data base functions and communications. Understandingpersonal computer hardware setup and software configurationrequired. Working experience with troubleshooting PLC’s is required.

Job Family Responsibilities:

Participates in semi-complex equipment trial runs, investigativetests, repairs and overhauls. Participates in training customers onsemi-complex products and services. Performs semi-complexmaintenance on tools, test equipment, etc., and maintains documentsof all inspections, maintenance and repair work, and failures.

Participates in responding to semi-complex service calls.

Participates in the assessment of semi-complex product/equipmentperformance based on field support data and recommendsmodifications or improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

Performs semi-complex work within technical or paraprofessionalarea. Effectively identifies problems as they occur and takesappropriate steps to solve them in situations where the problem isnot difficult or complex. Refers complex, unusual problems toothers.
