The company exports its high-performance longwall mining equipment to all major mining markets worldwide, strategically located in 15 countries. The core HBT facilities have the capability for research, development, design, manufacturing, and testing of longwall mining equipment in-house.
Position Purpose:
This position is North American based role, located in the Birmingha/Bessemer, AL area. HBT is seeking an experienced Underground Longwall Technical Service Representative (TSR). Job Summary As a TSR your role will include but not limited to providing critical underground longwall customer support and resolving technical customer issues. The TSR works as a team member under a Product Support Manager.
Responsibilities:
Provide start-up assistance for Operation and Maintenance training, system adjustment, correcting deficiencies to ensure smooth, productive start-up. Provide routine equipment inspections. Complete wear assessments. Aid with Longwall move planning. Identifying and correcting product problem areas. Provide emergency call out assistance for unusual problems, deficiencies, or other problems that could adversely affect production. Planning and scheduling of maintenance activities with customers. Check and log equipment weekly for electrical issues, leaks, missing parts, damaged hoses, cables or electro-hydraulic controls, and report any unsafe issues. Report and track premature failed parts for examination and root cause analysis. Check customer consignment parts and report of any missing components. Quote customer any missing components for replacement.
Required Qualifications:
Ability to troubleshoot and test underground Longwall equipment, utilizing specific tooling. Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic schematics. Ability to maintain key customer relationships. Type A / high sense of urgency personality. A great work ethic and motivation, combined with the ability to work under pressure & meet deadlines. Attention to detail and commitment to quality. Organized and trustworthy. Basic user of all Microsoft suite products Must be able to work in an underground mining environment. Must be able to lift or push 50 lbs. Ability to travel regularly to customer sites.
Desired Qualifications:
College diploma, Technical or Engineering Degree or equivalent Certified Electrical Mining papers (State &/or Federal). 5 years’ experience in the mining industry in the repair and maintenance and service of Heavy equipment.
