A strong focus on safety is paramount. The successful candidate will adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols as set forth by Thompson Tractor. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, technical expertise, and the ability to work independently in demanding field conditions. Extensive on-the-job training, classroom instruction, and e-learning must be successfully completed to remain in the technician training program. The Technician will demonstrate initiative, commitment to teamwork, enthusiasm for customer service, and dedication to finding solutions in an efficient manner. will advance in classification as attitude, skill level, and job performance allows. Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance safety, and reliability Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems; remove and install; disassemble and reassemble Utilize diagnostic tools, manuals, and technical expertise to identify and troubleshoot equipment issues, malfunctions, and failures Diagnose problems accurately and develop effective repair solutions Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, including fluid changes, filter replacements, component inspections and lubrication to extend equipment lifespan and minimize unexpected breakdowns Conduct comprehensive testing and inspections to ensure equipment meets safety standards and operational requirements. Verify proper functioning of controls, systems, and components Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repair activities including work performed, parts used and labor hours. Complete service reports, work orders, and other necessary documentation promptly and accurately Follow federal and state regulations regarding DOT/ Driving Coordinate with Parts Department to identify, order, and receive required parts and components for equipment repairs. Maintain inventory levels and ensure adequate supply of critical parts Adhere to all safety protocols, regulations, and company policies whiles working on equipment. Promote and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the specific job sites Maintain and clean service truck for safe operation; take proper care of service truck Be safety minded at all times Experience Required A minimum of one (1) year work experience involving mechanical repairs or a combination or relevant experience and equivalent technical education is required. Experience using personal computers, and basic typing skills are required.
