The Technician Overhaul Hydraulic / Mechanical Technician will be responsible for repair, overhaul and assembly of offshore drilling equipment. Job Responsibilities Complete disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of offshore drilling equipment, including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems, to ensure optimal functionality and safety standards, requiring extensive knowledge of drilling equipment mechanics and troubleshooting abilities to identify and rectify worn or damaged parts. Thoroughly dismantle drilling equipment components like Top Drives, Roughneck and hoisting systems, inspecting for wear, corrosion, cracks, and other defects. Properly reassemble equipment per drawing specifications, performing functional tests to verify proper operation and performance. Perform all job functions in a safe manner. Perform, as required, with proper training and per established procedures of all aspects of repair and overhaul work on offshore drilling equipment Perform preventative maintenance on assigned production equipment. Maintain a clean and safe work area Adhere to all company quality related policies and procedures Contribute to risk assessments and toolbox talks Ensure timesheets and inspection reports are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner Carry out Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT’s) to company standards Be able to operate forklifts, cranes and vertical lift platforms when trained to do so Attend meetings and training courses as required Subscribe to, and comply with, company HSSE guidelines Report and participate in investigation of all unsafe practices and/or behaviors Suggest improvements to working practices and HMH product lines Carry out QC checks at Goods In point as and when required Ensure adherence to all local waste management policies and procedures All personnel are responsible for the immediate reporting of any leaks/spills to Workshop Supervisor Provides technical guidance to less experienced personnel Other duties as assigned Qualifications/Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) Minimum 2 years of relevant experience Demonstrated advanced knowledge of mechanical or hydraulic systems Ability to read schematic and layout drawings Excellent organization and follow-up skills Excellent customer service skills and attitude Understands and efficiently uses basic computer hardware Capabilities to read, write and comprehend English Ability to stand 8+ hours per day Ability to bend, stoop, crouch when needed Ability to frequently lift, carry and position objects up to 50 pounds Desired Characteristics Minimum 5 years of experience in overhaul, troubleshooting and repairs of hydraulic / mechanical offshore drilling equipment Must demonstrate communication skills and the ability to work and communicate effectively with others.
