Service Technician manages repair, maintenance, and test tasks. They diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions. They are responsible for servicing and making equipment rental ready. Essential Functions Troubleshoots and diagnoses all types of equipment to ensure proper working condition on the job site or in the shop Performs routine equipment clean-up and upkeep as well as safety review and pre-delivery inspections Inspects, diagnoses, repairs, reconditions and adjusts heavy equipment as required and completes all paperwork on the equipment to which the individual is assigned Participate in all training programs directed by Service Manager Bring to the attention of the Service Manager any shop tools or equipment that is not in a serviceable condition or unsafe to use Maintains tools in good working order per MSHA and OSHA regulations Completes basic computer tasks including completing work orders, looking up parts, and communicating via email Communicates with coworkers Tie workflow to schedule Manage all on site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions Produce timely and detailed service reports Operate equipment in a safe manner Follow all company’s filed procedures and protocols Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization Must be able and willing to help train and assist other technicians in need of assistance Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions
Required Education and Experience:
Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment Must have own tools Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams. Military service will be considered in lieu of education/certification experience as applicable. Supervisory Responsibilities None Work Environment Environment is consistent with heavy equipment yard and shop Travel Required Minimal travel required. Only required for factory sponsored training Physical Demands The physical demands of this role require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors when required by the job.
