Waste Connections, Inc. has an immediate opening for a highenergy, self-directed, organized Heavy EquipmentMechanic/Technician to join the team at Sun Country MaterialsLandfill, Riverview, FL. Previous waste experience and knowledge ofEquipment Management Software would be a huge plus!
This will be aMonday – Friday position working 7:00am- 5:00 PM and PossibleSaturdays. Plus, year-round OT./ $5,000 Stay On Bonus!
DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES
Tasked to order parts and build a relationshipwith onsite office clerk, site staff and equipment venders.
Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.
Performs inspections, diagnosis, and repair of electrical,hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles andequipment. Equipment currently on site. (Landfill Compactors,Dozers, Excavators, Motor grader, Haul trucks Site trucks) Utilizesvehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes toinitiate or assign repairs. Performs service calls for emergencybreakdowns. Breakdowns may occur on the working face of thelandfill. Comfortable with operating and working on HeavyEquipment. Previous field experience is a plus Conducts safetychecks on vehicles and equipment. Completes required paperworkutilizing fleet maintenance software program associated withrepairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting forrepair times. Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified onDriver Vehicle Inspection Reports. Performs maintenance relatedwork as required. Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliancewith corporate and OSHA standards. Performs all work in accordancewith established safety procedures. Ability to effectivelycommunicate needed repairs or tasks in a timely manner.
WORKINGCONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT

heavy lifting, pushing, or pullingrequired of objects over 50 pounds. Work environment may be indoorsin a shop, or outdoors to repair equipment on the landfill.
Usually, well-lit, and ventilated. Sometimes it is necessary towork in awkward or tight positions and to handle greasy or dirtytools. These factors require the following basic safetyprecautions.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 2 years ofexperience related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Must have experience working on yellow iron/heavy equipment. Mustprovide own personal tools.
