JOB DESCRIPTION

Persons employed as a GSE Mechanic is expectedto: Inspect and maintain ground support equipment used inoperations. Troubleshoot, repair and/or overhaul ground supportequipment. Check and service ground support equipment with fuel, water,oil and hydraulic fluid. Diagnose problems using test equipment and applicablemanuals. Build and assemble machines or mechanical components accordingto requirements. Inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. and rundiagnostic tests to discover functionality issues. Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability. Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment andsystems. Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components. Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery. Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventativemeasures to machine or vehicle users. Keep logs of work and report on issues Completion of GSE paperwork as required. RESPONSIBILITIES

The following are essential to the job, inaddition to those listed above and on the chart in thisdescription. Certain functions may be performed in varying weatherand environmental conditions, such as precipitation, extremetemperatures, jet engine fumes, dust, and noise. The tasks areperformed inside and outside near stationary and moving aircraft(including spinning propellers and engines). Frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Read, write and fluently speak and understand the Englishlanguage. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, shortcorrespondence and memos. Write routine business correspondence. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small groupsituations to customers, clients, supervisor and employees. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables instandardized situations. Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed butuninvolved written or oral instructions. Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measureusing whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical andother systems and their components Aptitude in using various hand tools (screwdrivers, hammersetc.) and precision measurement tools (e.g. calipers) Ability to follow established procedures and practices and readinstruction, blueprints etc. A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines Very good communication skills A problem-solving ability Very good physical strength and stamina

QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or GED plus one (1) year experience and/orequivalent combination of education and experience Minimum of 18 years of age Ability to pass background checks (criminal and motor vehicle),drug tests, receive and maintain issuance of an airport securitybadge, and be insurable by the company’s insurance policies. Must be legally authorized to work in the country ofemployment. Prior GSE or heavy equipment experience preferred. Must have your own tools. Must possess valid driver’s license. Certification from a vocational school or completion ofapprenticeship is a definite plus. Valid certification (ASE) preferred.
