Job Purpose As aMechanic B, you are an expert technician and will assume aninfluential role in product knowledge and standards of qualitywithin the branch. Mechanic B’s understand the standard operatingprocedures at the branch, region, and national level and serve as amentor to C level mechanics. The primary focus of a Herc RentalsMechanic B is to utilize their mechanical knowledge to supportfleet maintenance operations needed to keep Herc Rentals equipmenton the rental “ready line”. This goal can be achieved safely andprofessionally through an effective preventative and correctivemaintenance program. What you will do Maintain a consistent schedule of performing preventativemaintenance of all Herc owned fleet at your branch Operate and test equipment to ensure it passes Herc Rentalsquality and efficiency standards Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all Herc fleetequipment and trucks with minimal supervision Diagnose internal combustion engines, DC electrical systems,propane systems, hydraulics, and fuel systems Perform major repairs to maintain fleet equipment usingdiagnostic tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments withminimal supervision Conduct oil changes, lubrication of equipment, tirereplacements, hose repairs, battery replacements and assortedservices Utilize warranty repairs timeframes to save and mark parts,correct parts and labor on a work order, or contact vendor whennecessary Enter work orders and complete part ordering via fleetmanagement system Recondition and replace assorted parts of the heavyequipment Diagnoses problem areas for any significant wear or tear on theequipment Maintain work area in a clean and organized manner Produce timely and detailed service reports and repairlogs Assist in training “C” Mechanics while taking direction fromthe shop lead Follow all company’s filed procedures and protocols Perform additional duties as assigned Requirements Ability to understand detailed technical schematics, ownermanuals, and product warning labels Ownership of sufficient selection of hand and air/electrictools to complete most repairs and services Ability to operate and test equipment such as boom lifts,forklifts, compressors, portable and stationary generators,hydraulics, pumps and assorted tools and equipment Computer skills to support entering information intosystems Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently Skills Interpersonal skills Teamwork Listening skills Dependability Ability to drive/operate multiple types of vehicles andequipment Ability to follow up with customers in a timely manner Ability to handle assorted tools properly and safely Ability to safely lift up to 50 LBs Attention to detail Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively andefficiently Must possess solid written and verbal communication skills andbe able to perform basic computer operations such as opening andclosing work orders Solid and proven computer skill set to enter work orders Understanding the importance of time management Works and communicates effectively with all employees of thebranch Works and communicates effectively with all levels of thecompany Req #: 61910

Pay Range:

$25-27hour Please be advised thatthe actual salary offered for any position is subject to thecompany’s sole discretion and may be influenced by various factors,including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications,experience, location, and overall fit for the role.
