Job Summary:

The Parts Exchange Technician is responsible for the efficient removal and replacement of components and assemblies on concrete mixer trucks and related heavy equipment. Ideal candidates are mechanically inclined, hands-on workers, who are confident with both hand and power tools, self-motivated, and have experience working on trucks or heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Remove and replace defective or worn-out parts on concrete mixer trucks, including hydraulic components, gearboxes, pumps, motors, and drive shafts. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, belt replacements, and hose fittings. Maintain accurate records of parts used and work performed. Identify visibly damaged components and report additional repair needs to senior technicians or your supervisor. Safely operate tools such as wrenches, pneumatic tools, hoists, and basic diagnostic devices. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and company procedures. Keep the work area clean and organized.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; vocational training in diesel or heavy equipment repair preferred. Minimum 1-2 years of experience working with heavy-duty vehicles or industrial equipment preferred. Basic understanding of mechanical systems, including hydraulics and pneumatics. Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in outdoor conditions, and handle physically demanding tasks. Valid driver’s license. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Basic toolset and knowledge of safety protocols in an industrial environment. Must have a personal set of basic tools appropriate for mechanical work. Electrical/wiring experience preferred. Welding experience preferred (not required).

Working Conditions:

Shop environment. Exposure to dust, grease, noise, and outdoor elements. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
