Requirements and Job Specifications Education Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred:
Vo-Tech School Area of Study Preferred:
Mechanics, Turf-grass, and/or
Equipment Mechanics License Required:
Valid LA Driver’s License Years Relevant Work Experience:
3 years’ experience making repairs to small engines, electrical or industrial equipment. Experience in welding, fabrication, or related disciplines. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Preferred:
5 or more years related experience; at least 3 years full-time at
BREC Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
General mechanical knowledge of gas & diesel motors & equipment, electric carts & battery chargers
Ability to work independently
Good communication/interpersonal/organizational skills
Skill in the use of hand and power tools
Skill in the operation of industrial/mechanical equipment
Ability to troubleshoot & make repairs using independent judgment
Ability to read, write and articulate moderately complex instructions
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public.
Functions and Duties Essential Functions and Duties:
Troubleshoots, maintains, services, and repairs all golf course and turf equipment, including but not limited to the following: greens mowers, slope mowers, tractors, backhoes, fairway mowers, rotary mowers, reel mowers, golf carts, ball pickers, utility trucks, etc.
Maintains and keeps clean the equipment, tools, shop, offices, rest rooms, storage areas, equipment yard, and other areas.
Transports equipment and tools between BREC golf courses.
Purchases parts and supplies using BREC guidelines and policies.
Secondary Job Duties:
Occasionally performs other duties in the overall golf course maintenance operation such as operating heavy equipment, mowing, topdressing, etc. This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by this employee.
