Heavy Equipment Mechanic Foreman Job Description As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic Foreman, you will be responsible for both preventative and reactive maintenance on all equipment. You will troubleshoot and repair diesel trucks, forklifts, front-end loaders, skid steers, and railcar movers. You will work with multiple brands, including CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi, Sandvik, Liebherr, and others, using electrical diagrams to troubleshoot equipment. This role will be a standard day/1st-shift role. Will oversee a shop of 5-8 people and could be in line to move up to HE Shop Manager in the future. Responsibilities Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on all equipment. Troubleshoot and repair diesel trucks, forklifts, front-end loaders, skid steers, and railcar movers. Work with multiple brands, including CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi, Sandvik, and Liebherr, using electrical diagrams. Perform machine rebuilds, overhauls, and major component replacements. Disassemble and assemble/rebuild Frac Transmissions. Conduct welding fabrication, including arc welding, metal inert gas welding, and arc gouging, using an oxyacetylene torch. Provide technical expertise on hydraulic pumps, valves, and motors. Essential Skills 5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic/heavy equipment mechanic. 3 years of supervisory experience. Proficiency in troubleshooting and repair. Experience with electrical diagrams and blueprint reading. Preventive maintenance knowledge. Diesel engine repair skills. Hydraulics expertise. Work Environment This position operates on a standard day shift, rotating on-call responsibilities. Working hours generally from 7am-5pm, can be flexed earlier. The role involves both indoor and outdoor responsibilities in a shop environment. The location is in the LA area, offering a vibrant and challenging service environment. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Davant, Louisiana. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $85000.00 – $105000.00/yr.
