About the Agency The Mississippi Department of Transportation is responsible for providing a safe intermodal transportation network that is planned, designed, constructed, and maintained in an effective, cost efficient, and environmentally sensitive manner. About the Position This position will entail mechanical work in the repair and maintenance of small engines, automotive, and heavy-duty equipment (Tractors, dump trucks, etc.). The employee will be responsible for mechanical tasks and minor diagnostic evaluations. Examples of work performed could include, but are not limited to: Routine maintenance and minor repairs, hydraulic systems, repair work on track systems, maintaining a variety of records (work orders, time reports, purchasing, etc.), repairs and replacement of tires.
