• Heavy Equipment Mechanic
• analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds and maintains power equipment, such as diesel motors and generators, dump trucks, backhoes, payloaders, pumps, compressors and small engine commercial grade lawn equipment.
• Responsibilities
• + Operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects.

Dismantles and reassembles equipment, using hoists and hand tools. + The inspection, servicing, disassembly, repair, replacement, and reassembly of bearings, seals, shafts, gears, hydraulic cylinders, actuators, gages, motors, lubricators, cylinder liners, and pumps. + The welding, cutting, brazing, soldering, and joining of ferrous and nonferrous materials. + The inspection, operator, servicing, disassembly, repair, installation, and reassembly of lifting equipment including overhead cranes and portable cranes located in shops and structures. + The use of a variety of hand tools common to the requirements of the contract. + The lifting and carrying of heavy objects weighing up to 80 pounds. + Ensure work orders when complete are properly filled out and returned to work management. + Support the project Safety Plan through personal involvement in all aspects of safety, including training and attention to the adherence to safety requirements pertaining to particular trades or skills. + This position may be part of an emergency management/response team as required by the company to meet contract requirements + Other duties as assigned

• Qualifications
• + High School Diploma or GED. + Minimum three (3) years prior experience. + Possess and maintain a current and valid State driver’s license covering the type of vehicle or equipment being used. + Possess and maintain current CDL (Class A or B) for the type of vehicle being operated, preferred

• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• + Combination of experience to repair engines, transmissions, transfers, hydraulic, air brakes, electrical, power train and general mechanical maintenance systems of moderate difficulty. + Ability to perform welding and minor body repair. + Ability to lift and/or move heavy objects weighting up to 80 pounds.
