Big Country Equipment is a BC-based heavy equipment service and repair company that works with resource-based customers in the construction, forestry, mining, and oil and gas sectors in Western Canada. Big Country Equipment was formed in 2017. We have grown rapidly from a one-truck operation to over 100 employees and a fleet of over 30 fully tooled service trucks, taking care of customers throughout Western Canada 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Duties and Responsibilities :

Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair various types and brands of heavy mining equipment. Utilize computerized and other testing equipment to determine repairs and create detailed service reports.

Transmission and drive-train repairs:

repairing or replacing transmission components, differential gears, and drive shafts. Interpret and complete both scheduled and unscheduled work orders. Contribute to the ongoing reliability of all heavy equipment and complete preventative maintenance requirements. Test repaired equipment to verify proper maintenance. Make recommendations regarding repairs and methods for improvement.

Requirements:

Must not want to work as a subcontractor; we are not offering this at this time. Must have a minimum of 3 years of recent experience working in the field out of a service truck. Must have experience working on mining equipment. Machine brands preferably worked on are Hitachi, CAT, John Deere, and Komatsu. Must be a Journeyman Heavy Duty Off-Road Technician. Red Seal needed if not licensed in B.C. Solid experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting.

All Successful Candidates Must:

Be proficient in English, both verbal and written. Have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License. Pass a Criminal Record check. Provide a clean 5-year driver’s abstract. Pass an 8-panel drug test (including marijuana) and an alcohol breath test. Be able to lift 50 lbs.. comfortably.
