Job Purpose As a Field ServiceMechanic A, you are a master technician and will assume aleadership role in product knowledge and standards of qualitywithin the branch. You will serve as a go-to resource for utilizingyour mechanical expertise to ensure Herc fleet remain in properoperating condition on our customer jobsites, at all times. FieldService Mechanics are dispatched to local jobsites at various timesof the day and work independently without direct supervision. Thisprovides the opportunity to build positive relationships withcustomers all while supporting the growth and improvement of yourcommunity. What you will do Develop and maintain a consistent schedule of performingpreventative maintenance of all Herc owned fleet at long termcustomer job sites Oversee and conduct oil changes, lubrication of equipment, tirereplacements, hose repairs, battery replacements and assortedservices Diagnose and repair heavy equipment as required to ensureproper operating condition at the job site Diagnose and troubleshoot fuel systems, electrical systems,hydraulic systems and propane systems Recondition and replace assorted parts to return equipment to asafely functioning state Educating customers on proper use of equipment to avoid futurebreakdowns Analyze problem areas for any significant wear or tear andaddress to ensure proper usage of the equipment until your nextscheduled visit Adhere to all safety guidelines posted at active jobsite whererepairs and maintenance are completed Maintain work area on jobsite in a clean and organizedmanner Produce timely and detailed service reports and repairlogs Follow all company’s filed procedures and protocols Build positive relationships with customers Perform additional duties as assigned Requirements Highschool diploma or equivalent Ability to operate and test equipment such as boom lifts,forklifts, compressors, portable and stationary generators,hydraulics, pumps and assorted tools and equipment Ability to understand detailed technical schematics, ownermanuals, and product warning labels Ownership of sufficient selection of hand and air/electrictools to complete most repairs and services Ability to be on call to support operational needs A valid driver’s license Skills Ability to drive/operate multiple types of vehicles andequipment Ability to follow up with customers in a timely manner Ability to handle assorted tools properly and safely Ability to safely lift up to 50 LBs Attention to detail Customer service skills to naturally converse with jobsiteforeman Flexibility to adapt to changing needs on an activejobsite Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively andefficiently Must possess solid written and verbal communication skills andbe able to perform basic computer operations such as opening andclosing work orders Solid and proven computer skill set to enter work orders Understanding the importance of time management Works and communicates effectively with all levels of thecompany Req #: 61356

Pay Range:
