Position Overview:
Are you an experienced technician with a strong mechanical skill set and a passion for precision? We’re seeking a R&R Technician (Transmission Dropper) to join our transmission shop in Monroe, NC . In this role, you’ll be responsible for the removal and installation of automatic and manual transmissions on a wide variety of vehicles. This is a hands-on position that plays a vital role in the repair process, requiring a high level of mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely and accurately remove and reinstall automatic and manual transmissions Ensure proper alignment, mounting, and reconnection of all related components Handle clutches, torque converters, flywheels, flex-plates, drive shafts, axles, and mounts Perform thorough inspections of removed components and communicate findings Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Work collaboratively with other technicians to ensure timely project completion Document work performed and follow all shop procedures and safety protocols
Requirements:
Proven experience removing and reinstalling transmissions (manual and automatic) Strong understanding of drivetrain systems and related vehicle components Ability to use hand and power tools including: Socket and wrench sets Torque wrenches Screwdrivers Ratchets with extensions Transmission alignment tools Capable of lifting 50 lbs. unassisted Excellent attention to detail and time management Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset High school diploma or equivalent preferred Why Join Us?
