SUMMARY:
To perform journeyman level diagnostic and repair work on fleet equipment to ensure its serviceability.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS
Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Associate’s degree from an accredited institute of higher education in automotive mechanics, heavy equipment technology or related field.
Experience:
Five (5) years of experience as a mechanic in a large commercial or highway garage repairing/servicing heavy equipment including large engines and drive trains. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
OREducation:
High school diploma or high school equivalency credential, and completion of apprenticeship training (8,000 hours) in automotive service and repair, heavy equipment technology or related field.
Experience:
Three (3) years of experience as a mechanic in a large commercial or highway garage repairing/servicing heavy equipment including large engines and drive trains.
License/Certification:
Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must possess
