Entry Level Refurb Technician GCM / Gofer Parts / Total Service Solutions Blackwood, NJ 08012 Summary/Objective The Entry Level Refurb Technician position conducts machine restoration and preventive maintenance service on floor cleaning equipment including and not limited to propane and electric buffers, ride on and walk behind floor scrubbers. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Preparing machines for distribution, including power washing, maintenance, and palletization. Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service on floor care equipment. Comply with OSHA safety and health rules. Logging necessary documentation for refurbished floor care equipment including make, model and serial numbers. Move machines to designated areas. Ensure the warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic. Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate methods. Assemble orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department. Competencies Communication Proficiency. Organizational Skills. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job both on customer and/or company facilities, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at the job site. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week normally, 8 ½ hours per day with a 30 minute unpaid lunch between the hours of 8 am and 6 pm. Travel No travel is required. Required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent/ Work Study Completed Mechanical/Technical training program with mechanical and electrical repairs including preventative maintenance and repairs of all shop equipment. Mechanical Background including ability to fully comprehend and use a wiring diagram and trace circuitry. Must keep and maintain a driver’s license in good standing. Preferred Education and Experience OSHA Certification(s). 1+ years of related experience in restoration/rebuilding floor cleaning machines, primarily scrubbers and floor buffers. Similar mechanical experience with golf carts, lawn mower or propane engines.
