  Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic

• Job Description
• We are seeking a dedicated Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic for a first shift position, with the flexibility of a 4 or 5-day work week.

This role is crucial for maintaining and servicing a diverse fleet of equipment and vehicles, including vans, trucks, forklifts, diesel trucks, and various shop machinery. We are looking for someone passionate about fixing equipment and motivated to excel in their work.

• Responsibilities
• + Prevent accidents by actively identifying, correcting, and reporting safety hazards.

+ Identify and pursue cost reduction and efficiency improvement opportunities. + Support the

ISO 9001

Quality Management System through self-inspection of work products. + Assist in the maintenance of fork trucks, vehicles, and production equipment, including preventative maintenance. + Repair and maintain paint pumps, rivet guns, and shop equipment. + Collaborate with shop personnel to maintain building and equipment items.

• Essential Skills
• + Experience with diesel engines and troubleshooting. + Proficiency in electrical and mechanical repair. + Knowledge of hydraulics and preventive maintenance. + Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. + Understanding of various equipment and vehicles, including pneumatics and brakes.
• Additional Skills & Qualifications
• + Diesel/fork truck mechanic training. + Maintenance savvy with a full set of necessary tools. + High School diploma or equivalent. + 5+ years of experience in gas or diesel engine maintenance or related fork truck or truck maintenance. + Welding and fabrication experience is preferred.

• Work Environment
• The work environment is within an industrial setting where steel containers are produced, which can be hot and loud at times.

The role is physically demanding and requires the ability to climb on vehicles and ladders, lift heavy loads, and maneuver into tight spaces. The position operates on a 1st shift from 6am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday, with regular opportunities for overtime and the option to work four 10-hour days.

• Pay and Benefits
• The pay range for this position is $30.00 – $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
