Due to market expansion, we are seeking multiple experienced mining/drill mechanics to add to their team! With a focus on supporting mining communities in Pennsylvania (primarily), Virginia and Maryland, we are seeking a skilled shop mechanic and an apprentice to support this booming business! Your previous experience supporting heavy construction and mining equipment will make you a strong candidate to add to this team. What You Will Do:
Working on large hydraulic based mining and construction heavy equipment, the ability to read schematics, troubleshoot electrical issues, maintain, and repair large pieces of equipment, on customer premises are requirements for this position. Performing repairs as well as rebuilds, you are a “mechanics’ mechanic” , rarely phased by perplexing mechanical issues, but rather facing them as a challenge and puzzle to be solved. As this role includes interacting with customers, strong communication skills will be appreciated when timelines are tight, and your customers are working to deadline.

The Nuts and Bolts of The Job:
Working as part of a hardworking team, you will be assigned a well-appointed service truck and be dispatched to our customer’s location (mines, quarries, construction sites) to perform a wide variety of equipment repairs, and preventative maintenance – to keep our machines up and running. An OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) you will provide timely service support, and troubleshoot/diagnose technical problems, on a wide variety of heavy equipment. From small hydraulic attachment tools, to good size drill rigs – and everything in between; our partner manufactures and warranties a wide variety of products. Known for our blast hole drills, your goal will be to minimize equipment/machine downtime, reduce costs, and work with our customers & their mechanical teams to showcase our product capabilities. As such, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and installing parts as needed to maintain the equipment in working order. As our customers are scattered throughout PA, into Virginia – and some in Maryland, regular travel to customer location is required, and sometimes, overnight travel will be necessary. Working Monday to Friday – your weekends will be your own. However you will work overtime, those days that you are deployed.
You will:
Troubleshoot, repair and install part s, to maintain the equipment in good working order Complete daily work assignments as requested Use basic analytical skills to thoroughly troubleshoot , identify problems and complete the repair of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems Provide parts information in the form of suggested stocking guides. Provide equipment warranty support . This includes understanding the Company’s warranty policy, evaluating and validating claims, discussing issues with Product Company, and submitting service reports to support claims Communicate service and other relevant activities to the Customer and the Service Manager through daily service reports or relevant forms, e-mail and telephone communication Provide training on equipment operation and proper use of consumables, such as Rock drilling tools, ground reinforcement products, installation, and grinding Equipment. Set-up and monitor testing of new or improved components. Track associated costs , or data from tests to ensure completion. Be professional and courteous at all times, with co-workers, and customers. When working in the service shop you will work repairing and rebuilding equipment to OEM specifications, and various complete components of the machine, including complete equipment rebuilds, on a planned project basis. The Party:
Knowledge :
A Certificate of Completion from a Technical or Trade School, two years of related experience and/or training, or an Equivalent combination of “roll up your sleeves” on the job education and experience. Aptitude & Work Ethic – A strong mechanical aptitude, from the time you could stand you liked to “tinker” and fix things, and good work ethic: you take pride in your job, are hardworking and are reliable. Your word is your bond.
Experience:
Minimum of two years of mechanical experience, working in a busy team-based environment, where you have repaired heavy mining/ construction or oil & gas equipment.
Driver’s License :
Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
It would be great if:
You possess a US Department of Labor, Mine, Safety & Health Administration Training certificates, or complete the training program needs to acquire the Certificates.
