Traffic Data Field Installation Technician National Data & Surveying Services Allentown, PA Job Description:

A national data collection company is hiring one (1) temporary traffic data collection contractors . This role involves installing traffic data collection equipment—primarily installing road tubing across roadways and/or temporary cameras at selected roadways and intersections. No experience is necessary. This is a contractor position, not a full-time employee role. While we will provide all tools and comprehensive training, the contractor must have a reliable vehicle capable of transporting field equipment (such as a pickup truck, SUV, or minivan). Typical contractor compensation averages around $800 per week , based on standard production. The more equipment you install, the more you earn—pay is based on the number of installations. Motivated contractors have the opportunity to earn over $1,000 per week . In addition to per-location compensation, contractors will receive mileage reimbursement .

Used for overflow or additional installations as needed Work on other days may occasionally be requested based on project demands or client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive to various project sites to install and retrieve traffic data equipment Work flexible hours, including early mornings or evenings as required Follow client specifications and company guidelines for each installation Maintain accurate documentation, including sketches, signal timings, and observational data when needed Upload collected data promptly per company procedures Communicate clearly via phone and email about schedules, site conditions, and any issues Maintain and care for equipment to ensure ongoing functionality

Requirements:

Must have a pickup truck, SUV, or minivan to transport equipment Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record High-speed internet access Basic computer skills (file downloads, email attachments, etc.) Excellent communication and organizational skills Open availability and willingness to travel, including frequent overnight stays Must be able to pass a drug test No prior experience is required—thorough training will be provided.
