Job Description
General Description:
Maintains and services mechanical equipment, machinery, and components. Performs skilled repair services of mechanical, electrical, and building systems and equipment. The Mechanic Level 2 is proficient in specific areas of discipline and works under moderate supervision with responsible for daily, weekly and monthly upkeep and repairs of equipment and facility in a 24 hour a day 7 day a week bakery.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Observe and diagnose equipment for repairConduct daily rounds and inspections to evaluate requests for repairMay complete boiler water testingConducts daily, weekly and monthly preventive maintenance inspections and service on machinesFollows all Good Manufacturing PracticesAbility to read and understand Standard Operating ProceduresDisassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts, reinstall new parts, and make repairs when necessaryExamine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wearReassemble after completion of inspectionRepair and replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipmentOperate newly repaired equipment to verify adequacy of repairsThoroughly cleans and adjust parts, equipment and machineryOils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performanceWorks with other mechanics on larger projectsAbility to meet strict deadlines.
Basic electrical knowledgePrepares reports documenting work performed.
Promotes and works within safety, quality, and food safety procedures.
Follow instruction from manager/supervisorPerforms other related duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
Must be 18 years or olderWorks well independently and with others1-3 years experience as a maintenance mechanic in an industrial settingReading comprehension, mathematics and writing[]{style=”font-size: 7pt; font-family: ‘Times New Roman’; font-weight: normal; font-stretch: normal;”}
