Job Purpose As a Mechanic C, you are an entry leveltechnician and will assume a role of familiarizing yourself withproduct knowledge and standards of quality within the branch.

Mechanic C’s will learn the standard operating procedures at thebranch, region, and national level to grow their career to higherleveled mechanics. The primary focus of a Herc Rentals Mechanic Cis to utilize their mechanical training to contribute to fleetmaintenance operations needed to keep Herc Rentals equipment on therental “ready line”. This goal can be achieved safely andprofessionally through an effective preventative and correctivemaintenance program What you will do Follow a consistent scheduleof performing preventative maintenance of all Herc owned fleet atyour branch Operate and test equipment to ensure it passes HercRentals quality and efficiency standards Perform routinemaintenance and repairs on all Herc fleet equipment and trucksunder direct supervision Diagnose small tools and light rentalequipment with assistance from senior mechanics Perform majorrepairs to maintain fleet equipment using diagnostic tools, handtools, and measuring instruments under direct supervision Conductoil changes, lubrication of equipment, tire replacements, hoserepairs, battery replacements and assorted services Enter workorders and complete part ordering via fleet management systemAssist in reconditioning and replacing assorted parts of the heavyequipment Learn what is covered and not covered by warrantiesMaintain work area in a clean and organized manner Produce timelyand detailed service reports and repair logs Follow all company’sfiled procedures and protocols Perform additional duties asassigned Requirements Accredited education in heavy equipmentrepair or 1 year of experience in lieu of Ownership of sufficientselection of hand and air/electric tools to complete most repairsand services preferred Ability to safely lift up to 50 LBs SkillsSome knowledge in electrical and hydraulic systems and willing tolearn how to read schematics Ability to operate and test equipmentsuch as boom lifts, forklifts, compressors, portable and stationarygenerators, hydraulics, pumps and assorted tools and equipmentComputer skills to support entering information into systemsAbility to communicate effectively and efficiently Ability todrive/operate multiple types of vehicles and equipment Ability tofollow up with customers in a timely manner Ability to handleassorted tools properly and safely Attention to detailUnderstanding the importance of time management
