Heavy Equipment Mechanic 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars Jeffersonville, VT 05464 Heavy Equipment Mechanic G.W. Tatro is looking for a qualified, tested heavy equipment mechanic to join our team! We are offering full-time, year-round work at our main office, with travel to our varied job sites. Heavy Equipment Mechanic’s Duties and responsibilities Maintain, overhaul, and repair a variety of heavy construction equipment, as well as light and heavy-duty trucks. Some small engine work (pumps, saws) will also be a part of this job. This job will also require traveling to job sites for routine field maintenance and emergency repairs. During the winter months, this technician will work with a crew to overhaul the equipment fleet–including repairs, rebuilds, and detailing—to prepare pieces for the spring construction season. Diesel mechanic experience required, as well as knowledge of Caterpillar equipment, which is most of our equipment. Heavy Equipment Mechanic Qualifications Positive, team-oriented attitude Patience and awareness of surroundings Several years’ experience performing heavy equipment and mechanical repairs Experience or schooling in diesel mechanic work Welding experience or familiarity is a plus Familiarity with CAT controls Ability to work cooperatively with others Aptitude in people skills- both with coworkers and the public Driver’s license Ability to work outside for long hours Working conditions Occasional weekend work Long hours Steep terrain All weather conditions Physical requirements Stamina Ability to travel Ability to lift 90 pounds Come join some of the highest skilled professionals in the state!
