Full Job Description Job Summary :
As a Commercial Appliance & Refrigeration Technician, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repair, and installation of a variety of commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment. This includes work on walk-in coolers and freezers, ice machines, commercial ovens, fryers, griddles, and more.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform bi-annual preventive maintenance on refrigeration systems including condenser and evaporator coil cleaning, refrigerant checks, and temperature calibration. Conduct diagnostics and on-site repair of cooking equipment (ovens, fryers, griddles, etc.) and refrigeration equipment (walk-ins, reach-ins, ice machines). Complete professional installations of new and replacement appliances per manufacturer’s specs and safety code. Submit detailed service reports including make/model, serial number, description of service performed, and time logs. Respond to service calls based on priority level (e.g., 24-hour response time for priority units). Maintain tools, vehicle, and inventory in good working condition. Maintain communication with the dispatch team and county contacts.
Minimum Requirements :
3+ years of hands-on experience in commercial appliance and refrigeration repair. EPA Section 608 Certification (preferred but not required at time of hire). Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in tight or hot environments. Strong attention to detail, safety, and time management. Ability to pass background check.
