This position is being filled using Direct-Hire Authority (5 CFR 337.201) for this occupion. Videos Duties Duties include, but are not limited to: Repairs, installs, maintenance and modifies of all types of air conditioning, he, and ventilion duct work throughout the various buildings of the medical complex. Schedules preventive maintenance inspections, systemic troubleshooting maintenance and repair of various sizes and types of refrigerion and air conditioning equipment and system components. Utlilizes the energy management control system in the informion and command modes to opere equipment and provide the ability to troubleshoot HVAC systems. Analyzes major building service equipment such as circuling pumps, air handlers, cooling tower fans, medical air compressors and vacuum pumps, etc. Performs quality assurance follow up inspections after major repair and overhauls to assure excellence in workmanship. Installs, maintains, repairs tubing, valves, fittings, castings, and equipment by welding, brazing, soldering and flaring. Examines equipment for wear or damage, replaces parts or repairs deficiencies. Installs belts, pulleys, connecting rods, crank shafts, pistons, rings, fans, overhauls valves. Constructs necessary dust barriers and/or block off areas as needed for safety and protection of pients, staff, vistors and equipment. Ensures job site remains clean of all debris and equipment upon completion of work. Responsible for the proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment.

Physical Requirements:
Employee must be able to lift least 50 pounds, must have full physical mobility to be able to walk up and downstairs, move in between and around machinery to record opering temperures and pressures. Must have good vision and be able to use hands to make necessary adjustments to opering equipment. Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching and stooping is required. Occasionally, climbing and work in high places is required.
Working Conditions :
Employee will work within the medical facility’s opering functions and must use all approprie safety tools and clothing, etc. to protect themselves, other staff, or and pients. Assignments can be in remote areas such as sub-basement, machinery rooms, rooftops, roads and walkways. Employee may be exposed to the possibility of uncomfortable he conditions, live steam and hot pipes. Employee must always be aware of safety hazards and know wh action should be taken to avoid them. They must observe all local and Nional Safety Codes. Work assignments may require a thorough knowledge of hazardous merial handling and exposure to include asbestos containing merial (ACM) and reled activities. Must know and comply with all the safety factors of the trade to prevent fires and injury to pients and personnel. Educion This job does not have an educion qualificion requirement.
