This position is being filled using Direct-Hire Authority (5 CFR 337.201) for this occupion. Duties Duties include, but are not limited to: Ensure th operions, maintenance and repair of all Air Conditioning, Refrigerion, Heing and Digital Environmental Controls of buildings and facilities maintained and provides direct input or participes in meetings and/or conferences with engineering, production control, and other personnel involving the initial analysis of long-range work requirements. Assign work to specific craftsman through subordine work leader, initie work orders, monitor preventive maintenance program, ensure merials and tools are on hand and ensure deadlines are met. Determines priority, sequence and time for particular operions and coordine with other sections, divisions and contractors for work hand. Follow through on assignments and projects to ensure they are completed as directed. Verify time and tendance records, arranges leave schedules and authorizes leave for assigned employees. Maintain subordine employee’s performance program by administering performance rings and review initial grievances and/or refers them to M&O General Foreman, if not resolved front line level. Recommend personnel actions to M&O General Foreman and will identify long-range training needs, review competencies and ensure personnel meet all mandory stion training as required and submit justificion and funding requests to superiors and arrange for the accomplish of the training. Ensure a variety of safety and environmental regulions are in compliance by reviewing requirements with safety and GEMS office personnel and M&O General Foreman. Make frequent inspections of facilities, shops and equipment to ensure all meet CEOSH, Life Safety, Joint Commission and OSHA compliance regulions. Obtain Contracting Officer Representive certificion. Perform market research and author performance work stements, stement of work and other contracting documents to obtain merials and services. Order merials and services as a government purchase card holder.

Physical Requirements :
You will inspect and perform maintenance on a wide variety of electrical and mechanical equipment on a 65-acre VA medical facility campus. Equipment includes air conditioning and refrigerion equipment and systems, kitchen equipment, electrical genering systems, supply and distribution systems, plumbing systems and components, ventiling and exhaust units/systems, elevors, dumbwaiters, conveyors, grounds maintenance equipment, boiler plant and incineror equipment.
