About the

Role:

Join our client, a leader in the industry, as an Ammonia Refrigeration Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, monitoring, and maintaining the facility’s refrigeration system. You will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of the refrigeration systems by adhering to strict guidelines and embracing a mindset of thorough planning and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspect structures to prevent weakening during pipe installation.
Work from sketches and blues to build code standards.
Test equipment to determine flow pressures and temperatures.
Maintain tools and machinery in good condition.
Adjust and repair boilers, heating, cooling, and ammonia refrigeration systems.
Install mounting brackets and hangers, align components, and assemble structural and functional components.
Connect pipes to functional components and systems.
Start systems, observe operations, and adjust mechanisms to control fluid levels, pressure, and temperature.
Dismantle malfunctioning systems and replace or adjust defective parts.
Insulate systems and install wiring to connect components to power sources.
Work flexible hours to meet project deadlines and respond to “call-in” service requests.
Communicate effectively with managers and provide professional service.
Adhere to safety, food safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices regulations.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED.
1-3 years of related industrial experience.
Ammonia certification and valid driver’s license.
EPA Proper Refrigerant Usage Certification preferred.
Ability to operate forklifts, man lifts, and mobile carts.
Basic electric knowledge.

Skills:

Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and management.
Basic mathematical skills for computing rates, ratios, and interpreting graphs.
Ability to common sense understanding to carry out instructions and solve problems.

Physical Demands:

Frequent standing, walking, and handling of objects.
Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment:

Exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes, and airborne particles.
Occasional exposure to wet conditions, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock.
Moderate to loud noise levels.
