HVAC Tech•II

Location:

Valdosta, GA

Shift:

Tuesday to Saturday•6:00 AM to 2:30 PM

Position Summary:

As an HVAC Technician II, you will be responsible for installing and repairing refrigeration and air conditioning systems, as well as monitoring, maintaining, and repairing plumbing and sewage systems. You will be an ambassador of superior quality and service, openly giving and receiving feedback, sharing knowledge with teammates, and going the extra mile.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor refrigeration systems daily for performance efficiency and make necessary adjustments.
Work from sketches and blues to build code standards.
Test equipment to determine flow pressures and temperatures of steam, water, gases, and other liquids.
Study building plans to determine work aids required and sequence of installations.
Inspect structures to avoid obstructions and prevent weakening during pipe installation.
Weld holding fixtures to steel structural members.
Add chemicals to disinfect and deodorize water and other liquids.
Inspect equipment and monitor operating conditions to detect malfunctions.
Collect and test water and sewage samples.
Operate and adjust controls on equipment to clarify water and process sewage.
Maintain, repair, and lubricate equipment using hand and power tools.
Clean and maintain tanks and work areas.
Monitor and adjust pH levels using specified chemicals.
Respond to service call-ins and work flexible hours to meet project deadlines.
Adhere to safety, food safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices regulations.
Report safety, food safety, and quality problems to authorized personnel.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED.
Two to four years of experience in air conditioning and commercial refrigeration service.
Knowledge of HVAC/Plumbing Systems such as Compressed Air Systems, Boiler Systems, Centralized Comfort Cooling, Industrial Refrigeration System, DAF System, etc.
Basic welding skills.
EPA Refrigerant Handling certification.

Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence.
Basic mathematical skills including the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Strong reasoning ability to common sense understanding to carry out instructions.

Physical Demands:

Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands.
Occasional sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
