#404 UNION The City of Pittsfield’sBuilding Maintenance Department seeks to fill the position of Heating,Ventilation and Air Conditioning Repair Person. The qualified individualwill be under the supervision of the Director of Building Maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains City owned buildingsand schools, installs, inspects, and repairs all HVAC equipment.

Equipment includes, but not limited to, boilers, burners, controls, airhandlers, uninvents and exhaust units.

• Replace valves, fans, motors,gaskets, filters and belts, fuses, capacitors, bearings, sheaves,actuators and uses various testing devices to locate defective parts andadjust RPM on motors and fans.
• Adjust and install switches, gauges,thermostats, valves, tubing and other parts as needed; makes pipeconnections and repairs; troubleshoots and repairs electrical componentspertaining to heating, ventilating and air conditioning.
• Keeps updatedwith regard to new regulations and procedures pertaining to heating,ventilating and air conditioning.
• Assigns and reviews the work ofco-workers assigned to specific projects. Works from blueprints,schematics and rough sketches, plans and organizes assigned workorders.
• Operates the building controls energy management systems toperform at peak efficiency.
• Performs all manual duties related to thegeneral maintenance of all city owned buildings as assigned. May berequired to work with other trades where necessary.
• Performs otherduties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma orequivalent.
• Valid driver’s license, class D.
• Must possess aRefrigerant Transition & Recovery Certification approved by the EPA.
• Avalid Commonwealth of Ma Certificate of Competency to make, alter orrepair oil burners is a plus.
• Three years’ experience in the heatingand/or air conditioning trade.
• Knowledge of proper methods, materials,tools and equipment used in the repair and maintenance of heating andair conditioning equipment and systems, pipe fitting, sheet metal workand electrical work pertaining to heating and air conditioning repair.
• Thorough knowledge of standard practices, methods, techniques of theHVAC trade and skill applications.
• Knowledge of applicable codes andregulations, appropriate precautions and procedures as they pertain toPublic and School Buildings. HOURS 7:00AM
• 3:30PM, Monday
• Friday 40Hours per week Some weekend and evening hours may be required. SALARYStarting salary $23.24
• $26.

15 an hour Annual increases up to $32.17an hour
