Responsible for high levelsof customer satisfaction through direct, on site, customerinterface. With a high level of complete technical competence,mentors control technicians, service technicians and mechanicaltechnicians on building automation activities. Properly completesrequired project and service documentation. Provide our customerswith the highest level of service to solve building inefficienciesand resolve service-related items. As a trusted advisor to ourcustomers, you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time ofservice How you will do it Diagnoses and repairs complex controlsystems malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of a variety ofelectronic or digital controls systems and ability to test andwrite modifications in multiple languages of systems software.
Consults with the customer through data gathered and siteassessments. Provides field proposals for retrofits, upgrades andor enhancements to existing equipment. Assists sales by providingtechnical recommendations for sales leads. Manages assigned work tomeet professional and efficient execution of time and customersatisfaction. Reports problems or changes to managementimmediately. Interfaces with branch manager, service manager,service project manager or subcontractors on projects to coordinateactivities as required ethically and professionally. Providessketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineeringcorrections and drawings. May assist with job layouts and bidproposals. Communicates with customers upon arrival and beforeleaving the work site. Ensures high levels of customersatisfaction. Meets regularly with customers to become familiarwith operating problems. Keeps customer informed on the serviceprovided, outstanding issues and recommends system enhancements,upgrades, and replacement. Promotes the sale of add-on work.
Adheres to all Johnson Controls and customer safety standards.
Provides safety leadership and instruction to all control’stechnicians in the branch. Provides safety awareness while workingonsite with Johnson Controls subcontractors. Trains the customer incontrol systems operations. Delivers manuals and documentation tothe customer for training needs as required. Provides mentorshipfor certification of Controls Technicians and Service Technicianson complex building automation systems. Coaches, supports andtrains the technical workforce on non-complex, non-criticalequipment. Compiles job documentation, such as certificate ofcompletion, customer training form, training certificates and punchlists. Conducts extensive self-study (reading, research andpractice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency incompany’s product lines. Completes certifications as required bythe company. Other duties related to the installing, commissioningand servicing of building controls and facilities managementsystems and energy management systems, as assigned. Assists in thedesign and configuration of building control systems as defined bythe contract documents. Creates flow diagrams, sequence ofoperations, and bill of material, network layouts and electricalschematics as required. Assists in developing and testing softwareprograms necessary to operate the system per the projectrequirements’ intent. Compiles and/or completes project as builtand close-out documentation. Assists in the coordination andcreation of necessary drawings and equipment schedules forsubmittals and installation. Selects, orders, and tracks thedelivery of materials for assigned projects. Coordinatesfactory-mounting processes to meet factory and project schedule.
Assists in the loading and commissioning of all system andnetwork-level controllers as required. Assists in validation ofcomplete system functionality and troubleshoots problems withsubcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation. Mayprovide field change information to the project team for thecreation of as-built drawings and software. Keeps management andJCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues.
Assists in performing site-specific training for owner / operatoron the total building control system. Participates in releasemeeting with project field team. Provide recommendations andsolutions to ensure facility is running efficiently to includeupselling opportunities. Provide quotes to support recommendationsand solutions. What we look for Required Be a dedicated member of aNorth America Branch team willing to learn and be responsible forsystem trouble shooting, repair and aftermarket services for thisfast-growing business. Minimum of Four (4) years CommercialControls troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry. Thisincludes buildings, chiller plants and systems. Vocational Schoolprogram graduate or an associate’s degree in a technical field, ortwo years’ experience in servicing electronic and or mechanicalsystems. Demonstrated ability to install and/or service electroniccontrol systems and HVAC equipment. Effective communication skillsto represent Johnson Controls on customer sites. Possesses theability to explain technical information to technical andnon-technical people. Demonstrate effective writing skills as wellas understanding of programs and software applications. Knowledgeof control theory, automatic temperature controls, buildingautomation systems and other building subsystems.
