Commercial HVAC Install Mechanic Job Summary:
What we are looking for
- Be able to understand blue prints and submittals
- Be able to read and interpret installation manuals of all equipment to ensure a proper installation
- Coordinate HVAC install with other trades and GC as necessary
- Understand proper installation of fire dampers and associated flashing
- Proper installation of gas piping (including regulator assemblies) and refrigerant piping
- Proper installation of condensate drains
- Spot and install roof curbs and set equipment
- Prepare and layout material for job to ensure all materials are accounted for
- Remove and replace equipment and any necessary ductwork
- Manage job time i.e. breaks, lunch, job stages
- Maintain a well-stocked truck at all times. Provide supervisor with a truck stock refill list weekly (Monday)
- Maintain a clean and organized jobsite at all times
- Carry truck to have oil changed on personal time
- Make supervisor aware of any jobsite issues in a timely manor
- Maintain a quality physical appearance at all times
- Email office and supervisor job inspection dates daily
- Respect Modern Mechanical TEAM Members and Modern Mechanical Property at all times
- Respect Job Superintendent
- Respect building tenants and owners
- Pull thermostat/ control wires and label them
- Follow instructions given by supervisor
- Look ahead on job for material needed and schedule issues
- Ensure Install Assistant understands what his role is on each job
- Manage all temporary help and/or Modern Mechanical subcontractors efficiently
- Train Install Assistant
- Clean up jobs daily
