Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED 3+ years of practical working experience in the HVAC IndustryOR completion of a 2 year HVAC school program and 1+ years ofpractical working experience in the HVAC Industry. A valid driver’s license is required Ability to enter into the Union Apprentice Program or currentlyenrolled Ability to push, pull and lift upto 50lbs
Essential Task Description:
(daily tasks and duties) Inspect air-conditioning units to ensure efficientoperation Perform regularly scheduled maintenance on heating and coolingunits Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions Install, replace, or repair damaged equipment; calibratethermostatic controls Install new heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems;repair and replace damaged or worn heating, ventilation andair-conditioning parts and equipment; repair or replace low- andhigh-pressure liquid lines Inspect and observe pressure of liquids and vapor withinstrumentation to ensure efficient operation of unit and makenecessary adjustment; inspect and service refrigeration equipmentincluding refrigerators, ice machines, gas packs, and heatpumps Maintain the chilled and hot water supply systems Adjust and maintain internal electrical and electronic controlsystems; cleans coils, blowers, checks motors, and belttensions Assemble and install metal ductwork Assist in planning and designing of new installations ofheating and air-conditioning systems Maintain maintenance records as required by City, State, andEPA regulations Performs additional duties and responsibilities asrequired Recognize and identify potential risks and hazards associatedwith performing all work-related duties safely Work to mitigate potential risks associated with essentialduties Collaborate with management personnel to maintain safe workingenvironments
Knowledge of:
Principles and practices of Heating, Venting, Air Conditioning(HVAC) maintenance and repair; hazard and safety practices commonto the trade HVAC controls and safety devices; appropriate Safety DataSheets (SDSs) / chemical usages; tools of the trade; materials andrefrigerant recovery equipment and procedures used in installing,repairing and maintaining HVAC systems Computerized electrical circuits and systems as they relate toair-conditioning, heating, ventilating, and refrigeratedcooling Sheet metal, electrical, plumbing and carpentry Basic understanding of building automation controls RSRCAR #Li-OnSite Carrier is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
