July 8, 2024 Position Purpose Contributes to the mechanical services team which includes the heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) and plumbing shop operations with an emphasis in HVAC by maintaining, repairing, and installing heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment, ensuring effective and efficient operations. Job Responsibilities Read, write and modify Building Automation Software (BAS) Sequence of Operations code and use the BAS digital logic controls to make changes to equipment operation, building schedules, software programming, creating historical logs/trends in addition to make changes at the application and equipment level.
Perform daily system checks and operation of several software applications for building control systems.
Monitor and control and maintain HVAC equipment.
Strategize/implement energy saving practices on campus in addition to using BAS for troubleshooting, diagnosing and evaluating needed repairs of mechanical equipment.
Perform skilled preventative maintenance on HVAC systems and BAS control network.
Inspect, install, operate, repair, modify and test digital, electrical, mechanical, and electronic control equipment related to heating, air conditioning, fume hood, steam distribution and exhaust systems.
Respond to and address urgent mechanical system repair issues on both HVAC and plumbing equipment.
Maintain safe working conditions on the and in the shop.
Required to be on-call in the event of an HVAC or plumbing emergency.
Perform other duties as assigned including support to Facilities Operations.

Associates degree preferred, preferably in HVAC Technology or a related field.
Universal EPA Certification for handling all applicable refrigerants required
NH State Gas License required
Experience A minimum of 8 years of experience in commercial/residential HVAC systems operations/maintenance and installation including direct experience with a computer based/ DDC controls and energy management programs required.
Firm knowledge of and experience with building automation controls similar to those currently in use within the Academy is preferred. (Schnieder Continuum/EcoStruxure; Siemens)
A working knowledge of mechanical operations and hands on HVAC maintenance, including electrical, electronic and pneumatic control equipment, steam and hydronic heating systems and air conditioning systems preferred.
Proficiency with computer applications required
Physical Requirements
Physical demands are in excess of those for sedentary work and officers must be able to remain on their feet for extended periods of time, go up and down flights of steps, as well as stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift.
Ability to lift and transport a minimum of 50lbs without assistance.
Ability to withstand exposure to inclement weather (rain, snow, sleet, freezing temperatures, etc.).
Additional Requirements
Successfully complete a criminal background check (reviewed every 5 years).
Clean Driving record (reviewed annually).
Will be required to wear personal protective equipment as appropriate for the work assignment.
