Responsibilities:
Specializes in the maintenance, repair, andinstallation of commercial HVAC systems, including air conditioningunits, furnaces, heat pumps, rooftop units (RTUs), boilers,chillers, cooling towers, and ventilation systems. Diagnoses andtroubleshoots complex commercial HVAC issues, ensuring quick andefficient resolutions. Provides leadership to junior techniciansand ensures all work meets industry standards and projectguidelines. Performs preventive maintenance, including inspecting,cleaning, and replacing components to maximize system performanceand longevity. Works with DDC (Direct Digital Controls) andbuilding automation systems to monitor and optimize HVACperformance. Ensures compliance with local, state, and nationalHVAC codes and safety regulations. Responds promptly to emergencymaintenance calls and resolves critical HVAC system failures. Mayassist with the installation and repair of auxiliary equipment suchas electrical motors, pneumatic control systems, and emergencygenerators.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GEDrequired. Graduation from a technical or trade school or completionof an HVAC apprenticeship program required. Minimum of five yearsof hands-on experience with commercial HVAC systems in industrial,institutional, or large-scale commercial settings. Strong workingknowledge of DDC and building automation control systems preferred.
EPA Universal CFC Certification required (Refrigerant HandlingCertification). Deep understanding of commercial HVAC tools,materials, troubleshooting techniques, and safety procedures.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manualsrelated to commercial HVAC systems. Self-motivated with the abilityto work independently or as part of a team. Must be comfortableworking outdoors in various weather conditions and in confinedspaces. Reliable attendance, punctuality, and ability to work anyshift, including weekends and holidays as needed.
