Position Description:
The Facility Technician II will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in commercial buildings. Will also assist with other operational equipment repairs as needed. This will include weekends as needed.
Essential Job Functions:
Lead by example and promote Seabrook Core Values, Characteristics, Employee Motto and Decision Making. Responsible for HVAC and refrigeration maintenance, minor repairs and servicing. Check, repairs and/or replaces valves, motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, cores, pipes, and other functions Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems Monitor HVAC systems and operations and ensure that routine preventive maintenance performs according to established schedules and standards Respond to hot and cold calls, then troubleshoot and resolve issues Coordinate work schedule from work orders, estimate worker hour requirements and order parts needed. Check the work orders daily; ensure that all member/guest areas are in good repair and in ready-to-use condition. Provide excellent customer service during all interactions Ensure all work is carried out efficiently and in accordance with industry standards Assist other staff on club maintenance and project needs. Follow safety training sessions and practices Assist with maintenance calls. Complete all other duties assigned by the Director of Engineering. Must maintain the policy of this company to conduct operations in a manner that will prevent injuries to people and damage to property and equipment and that will comply with all applicable regulations for safety and health. Promote and adhere to standards set by the Seabrook Island Club.
Requirements:
Education :
High school diploma or equivalent. Prior schooling or certifications in mechanical, plumbing, electrical or HVAC required. EPA CFC Universal Certificate required.
Experience :
Previous HVAC Technician experience minimum of one year required.
Skills :
Excellent communication, excellent mechanical aptitude and abilities are required. Broad knowledge of engineering terminology and concepts required. Must have own hand tools. Must maintain a valid SC driver’s license. Working knowledge of a variety of HVAC systems, including chilled water systems, variable air, variable refrigerant flow, single/multi-split and other commercial systems. Electrical & plumbing skills / trouble shooting ability would be beneficial to this position.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
None. Equipment to be used : Hand tools, various hand held and stationary power tools, and vehicle.
Typical Physical Demands :
Requires ability to work at a 16-foot height, carry up to 50 pounds, lift, push, pull, stand, bend, kneel, and crawl for extended periods of time. Requires the ability to work inside or outside in moderate and extreme temperatures and weather. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
