Industrial Mechanic Job Description We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at our Fort Lauderdale location. This position involves training on the first shift for approximately one month before transitioning to the second shift. The role requires expertise in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing shop equipment and machines, with a strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic aptitude. The mechanic will perform preventive maintenance on various machinery, including welding machines, overhead cranes, shear presses, and band saws. Responsibilities Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair shop equipment and machines. Perform preventive maintenance on welding machines, overhead cranes, shear presses, and band saws. Repair and maintain CNC machines, hydraulic machines, and other facility machinery. Assist with facility maintenance tasks, such as conveyors, chains, bearings, and belt changes. Change out hoses or valves as needed. Essential Skills Experience in maintenance, electrical, industrial mechanic, and maintenance tech. Knowledge of electrical systems, specifically 120 or 480 volts. Hydraulic, mechanical, repair, and troubleshooting skills. Ability to read schematics and blueprints. Experience with preventive maintenance and repair. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic experience required. Experience with conveyors, hoists, and replacing hydraulic cylinders. General electrical experience and troubleshooting skills. High School Diploma or GED required. Work Environment This position operates on the second shift, Monday through Thursday from 3 pm to 12:30 am, Friday from 2 pm to 10 pm, and every other Saturday from 6 am to 12 pm. The work environment is outdoors, covered by sheet metal, and can be loud and dirty at times. The shop is located in Fort Lauderdale, with easy access from Prospect Rd./Dixie Highway. Candidates must have their own basic hand tools and wear steel toe boots. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oakland Park, Florida. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 – $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
