K Essential Job Functions:
Assists mechanics in performing preventive maintenance inspections on tractors and cargo tank trailers. Assists with performing moderate to complex repairs on engines, drive trains, brakes, suspension systems, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, cooling systems, alternators, electrical systems, instrumentations, trailer bulk product transfer, handling and storage systems, and other necessary power equipment. Operate steaming machinery Connect, monitor, and disconnect steam to the heating coils of a loaded cargo tank. Documents heating operations on a steam log. Compare product name on the bill of lading with Safety Data Sheet (SDS) to verify product name is the same on both documents prior to conducting steam operations. Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the job: High School Diploma or equivalent required, trade or technical school graduate 1-2 years of basic maintenance and/or mechanic experience Valid driver’s license Strong computer skills Ability to carry out instructions accurately Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions Able to operate heavy machinery similar to steamer or boiler Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of mechanical components Knowledge of using standard hand and power tools Team player Quality Carriers is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
