12hr (6pm-6am) 2-2-3 (2 on, 2 off, every other weekend) schedulePosition Summary The Manufacturing Technician III, (PackagingMechanic) reports to a Supervisor or Manager on the Manufacturingfloor, which supports Packaging operations. The position entailsthe execution of setup, changeover, repairs, and preventativemaintenance for all equipment used in the production processes invarious Classified/Non-Classified areas and performs the role of aPackaging Technician as needed. It requires the ability to performmechanical and electronic troubleshooting in order to ensureoptimal equipment performance. The Manufacturing Technician IIIwill also provide basic mechanical training to PackagingTechnicians and serve as a resource for the implementation ofcontinuous improvement projects. Responsibilities

  • Operate,monitor, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance tasks on variouspackaging equipment including picker, sorter, labeler, packer,checkweigher, printer, inspection equipment, palletizer,stretch-wrapper and conveyors. Work collaboratively with technicalresources to resolve equipment issues as needed.
  • Act as afirst-line technical resource for the team. Provide technicalsupport to production technicians. Resolve equipment-relatedissues, including equipment start-up, machine recipe selection,recipe format set-up, critical sensor challenge, and productionissues.
  • Proactively monitor equipment and component levelconditions, and perform preventative maintenance tasks. Identifyand investigate abnormal conditions and potential defects toprevent unplanned equipment downtime.
  • Perform technician tasks asrequired including start-up, equipment operation, manual packaging,batch execution, material handling, rework, cleaning, housekeepingand line clearance activities.
  • Operate light material handlingequipment (motorized and manual pallet jacks, non-motorized lifts)as the need arises to safely move, store or deliver material to theproper location.
  • Monitor material quality of incoming, in-processand finished materials. Promptly escalate concerns to LeadTechnician and Process Facilitator as needed.
  • Perform batchrecords, GMP documentation, and CMMS entries. Perform mathematicalcomputation as needed.
  • Be familiar with job-related safetyprocedures and hazards including PPEs, ergonomics, LOTO, humansafety, material handling, chemical handling, and spill controls.

Report all discrepancies to process facilitator.

  • Perform workrequirements in a responsible manner, in accordance with SOPs,cGMPs, and established safety and quality procedures.
  • Supportlean activities and process improvement work such as performing 5Sin the work area, participating in problem-solving, and manualtracking of performance data for OEE and process improvementanalysis. Lead Level 0 problem-solving on equipment related issuesas needed.
  • Act as a certified OJT trainer on the team on assignedequipment or process tasks. Train and conduct evaluations on otherteam members for training qualifications.
  • Review processdocuments such as operational SOPs, PM procedures, forms and batchrecords for accuracy. Identify and provide suggestions for processimprovement while maintaining quality and cGMP compliance asopportunities arise.
  • Execute protocols as required as a part ofequipment qualification and process validation work
  • Be flexibleand support other work areas within the Process Execution Team asneeded
  • Perform all other assigned duties with minimal supervisionunder the direction of the process facilitator or designee asneeded.
  • Acquire and maintain all required certifications andqualifications for the assigned work area
  • Strong mechanical andelectronic knowledge and aptitude
  • Strong verbal and writtencommunication skills
  • Capable and motivated to learn new skillsand develop new capabilities on an on-going basis to contribute tothe success of the Process Execution Team
  • Proven ability to workeffectively in a team environment
  • Ability to interpret technicaldocuments
  • Candidate should possess the ability to work in andadapt to a changing/demanding environment
  • Some overtime may berequired with minimal advance notice to support business needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a regulated productionenvironment, specifically responsible for equipmentmaintenance andperformance
  • Must have the ability to effectively understand,read, write, communicate, and follow instructions in the Englishlanguage.
  • Ability to lift and handle equipment change parts,tooling, and materials associated withequipment maintenance andrepair Preferred Qualifications
  • High school graduate, vocationalschool graduate or equivalent
  • Associate in engineering ormechanical trade school graduate preferred
  • Previous experiencewith automated equipment
  • Training in mechanics, hydraulics, andelectronics systems
  • Knowledge of computerized maintenancemanagement system such as SAP

Our target base pay hiring range forthis position is $24.00 – $36.50 per hour.
