Job Description:
As a Mechanic First Class, you will perform mechanical maintenance and repair on equipment throughout the facility. You may also work on processes to improve efficiency.
- Performs mechanical maintenance and preventive maintenance on any plant equipment, facility, and or process.
- Completes projects with little or no supervision.
- Skilled in use of all shop tools & equipment.
- Leads, assists, trains, assigned teammates
. - Installs maintains, repairs & modifies plant equipment, facility &/or process improvements.
- Performs any type of electric arc & acetylene welding & cutting assignments.
- Operates shop tools & equipment for fabrication of or reworking of parts & any other tools.
- Diagnoses & corrects equipment/process problems.
- Completes required records & reports
Qualifications:
Must have five (5) years of verifiable industrial mechanical experience as a 1st class mechanic or two-year electrical technical degree and related experience.
Must successfully complete all AGY’s assessment criteria, (including, but not limited to, mechanical equipment series assessment, high school diploma or equivalent. etc.) HS Diploma/GED; Technical Certificate preferred
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen Must have demonstrated mechanical aptitude by passing mechanical theory test Must be able to push, pull, reach, bend, squat, twist, turn, climb, work overhead, wear required PPE, and work in a hot, confined environment Must be able work various shifts including nights, weekends and overtime
