Mechanical Assembly Technician (2nd Shift) Job Description Join our dynamic team as a Mechanical Assembly Technician, where you will perform mechanical and electrical builds of large control panel cabinets. You will be responsible for reading and understanding engineering drawings, schematics, and diagrams, and installing mechanical parts using these drawings. This role involves building control panels from the ground up, including installing railing, panels, cabinets, doors, and framing for panels that are 12-15 feet in length and up to 9 feet tall. Responsibilities Coordinate mechanical build tasks with other manufacturing staff to meet customer requirements while adhering to safety, quality, and customer specifications. Follow standardized procedures to accomplish assigned tasks. Mechanically assemble electrical control panels per customer specifications using appropriate tools. Organize tasks requiring multiple team members to accomplish. Provide information and coordinate action plans at cross-functional meetings, and communicate issues with team members and visitors to drive corrective actions. Utilize drawings to lay out the structure for panels, measure dimensions, verify, build panels, boxes, and electrical cabinets for the team to wire and inspect. Perform part replacement on tools as needed and according to schedules. Work under direct, close supervision, with output monitored frequently. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Follow detailed written or verbal instructions, including visual aids. Ensure that assigned area is clean and organized per 5S standards. Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position. Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy. Essential Skills Proficiency in mechanical assembly and installation. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams. Experience with using hand and power tools. Strong mechanical abilities. Capability to lift up to 40 lbs above the head. Skill in wiring, soldering, and conduit installation. Additional Skills & Qualifications 2+ years of experience in mechanical installation and assembly. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Competency in using a Windows-based operating system and related software. Ability to perform mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work the 2nd shift from Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday shifts when scheduled. Shifts may vary, including 8-hour, 10-hour, and 12-hour shifts during certain weeks. Work in an extremely clean, temperature-controlled environment. Collaborate with a team to assemble units. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, Tennessee. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.38 – $24.38/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
