WATER/SEWER CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE WORKER I
The Utilities Board of the City of Andalusia is accepting applications for the position of Water/Sewer Construction and Maintenance Worker I. Under the general direction of the Water/Sewer Construction Foreman and/or Crew Leader, the employee performs manual and semiskilled work in the installation, repair, and maintenance of the water distribution and sewer collection systems. Responsibilities include repairing wells, flushing fire hydrants, and operating hand tools in the maintenance of the water and sewer lines and roads, construction, cleaning, and repair of water and sanitary sewers, and the operation of water and sewer-related equipment. Work is performed in compliance with accepted standards of construction, maintenance, and repair of water and sewer lines.
QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of training and/or experience equivalent to:
Possession of a valid drivers license as issued by the State of Alabama Department of Public Safety.
Ability to obtain a Commercial Drivers License.
Some experience in the construction and maintenance of municipal water and sewer systems.
Graduation from a senior high school or equivalency preferred; however, any combination of educationand experience, that provides the qualifications listed above, will be considered.
