JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the maintenance of the City of Auburn’s facilities. This position reports to the Facilities Maintenance Coordinator.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs troubleshooting and maintenance duties related to facilities maintenance.
Performs grounds maintenance duties.
Performs minor repair and maintenance duties related to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
Performs cleaning duties at city facilities.
Performs facilities maintenance duties through use of various tools and equipment.
Performs other related job duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; one (1) to two (2) years’ experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Qualifications:
Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Alabama Class B Commercial Driver’s License within six months of employment. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a Class C UST Operator Certificate.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of City and department policies and procedures. Knowledge of the repair and maintenance of plumbing and electrical systems.
Knowledge of carpentry, masonry, and painting.
Knowledge of relevant safety regulations, practices and procedures used in equipment and facilities maintenance.
Knowledge of local government operations, policies and plans, and modern office practices and procedures.
Skill in operating a wide variety of hand tools and specialized equipment.
Skill in performing basic mathematical calculations, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
