Position Description Title:
MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assists in the implementation of adopted Board and administration policy, state and local policy and codes, and Federal Regulations. 2. Assists in the examination of school buildings on a regular basis for needed repairs and maintenance. 3. Helps establish and recommend priorities on repair projects. 4. Helps establish cost of repair projects in terms of labor, material, and maintenance work. 5. Assists in the layout and inspection of work. 6. Helps prepare reports on cost of work done, materials used, and labor expended. 7. Assists in ordering materials as needed. 8. Handles emergency repair problems with efficiency. 9. Consults with building principals regarding the establishment of regular preventive maintenance programs. 10. Maintains records as are required. 11. Maintains a log of work done. J 2. Shows politeness and good manners in dealing with others. 13. Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED equivalent. 3 years’ experience in job related field . • Maintains Alabama driver license and safe driving record Must meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama Statutes and State board of Education regulations. Professional License and/or 3+ years experience as HVAC/Electrical/Plumbing
