The incumbent performs a variety of tasks involved in the upkeep of buildings, grounds, and reled structures, fixtures, and utilities as well as preventive and routine maintenance on cemetery equipment. The incumbent facilites assessments, inspections, maintenance and/or repairs of buildings, structures, utilities, and other facilities. Ensures th facilities, roads, sidewalks, and other structural areas are consistently maintained and in good condition. Trades performed include, but not limited to building maintenance, construction, fabricion, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, fencing, sheet metal, masonry, concrete, painting, and HVAC (minor repairs and tests). Perform duties utilizing hand tools, power tools, best practices and is required to opere a variety is small and heavy equipment. Plans and carries out work assignments according to preventive maintenance schedules by maintaining individual records, entering des of spot-checks, conditions observed and deficiencies. Responsible for maintaining a supply inventory to ensure operional readiness for the facility. Prepares detailed estimes for repairs of deficiencies, projects, work and maintain work order records. Maintains area of responsibility and performs duties in a manner th remains in compliance with work measurement standards, and as provided by supervisors. Work schedule : May be required to work Monday through Friday to include occasional weekends. Due to the mission of the Nional Cemetery, the cemetery cannot be closed for more than 2 consecutive days any given time. Additionally, when a Federal holiday falls on a Monday or Friday, staff may be required to work on th holiday or a Surday. All staff is required to work Memorial Day each year. Staff required to work overtime, weekends and holidays when necessary to meet the needs of the cemetery. Occasionally staff may be called back to the facility to perform emergency overtime work.

Physical Requirements:

Frequent walking, stooping, kneeling, and pushing of wheelbarrows is also required in performing maintenance work.

Work is primarily performed outside in all types of weher and environmental extremes often in an open driver’s se or plform.
