Maintenance Associate Adamah, Inc Falls Village, CT 06031 Company Overview Adamah, Inc. is a leading environmental organization that is dedicated to fostering sustainable practices within the Jewish community and beyond. Summary The Maintenance Associate is a hands-on role which involves maintaining buildings, grounds, and equipment, assisting with scheduled projects, and ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment for guests and staff. Assist in maintaining and repairing buildings, grounds, and vehicles according to facility standards and relevant codes. Perform routine maintenance tasks including landscaping, snow removal, basic plumbing, carpentry, and painting. Help execute short-term and long-term maintenance projects as directed by the Director of Facilities or a supervisor. Respond promptly to staff and guest service requests as directed by supervisor to ensure a positive on-campus experience. Work both indoors and outdoors, including in inclement weather and across all areas of the property. Follow all safety protocols and help maintain a secure environment for guests and staff. Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance workspaces. Carry out any other reasonable tasks assigned by the Director of Facilities. Helpful prior skills and experience include: Basic knowledge of maintenance practices, including building systems and groundskeeping. Ability to take direction, work independently, and as part of a team. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Comfortable working in physically demanding conditions and various weather. Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail. Valid driver’s license preferred.
General:
Attend morning department meetings. Attend monthly all-staff meetings, when you can. Must possess a solid work ethic with strong organizational and time-management skills, excellent attention to detail, professional verbal, and written communication skills in English, as well as provide excellent customer service. Must maintain a professional demeanor. Must be able to adapt to changing situations. Other tasks/duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
This is a non-exempt, temporary position, with work hours set to work any day of the week based on the Retreat Center schedule.
