Assist Maintenance Technician Plantation Preserve Golf Course & Club 7050 West Broward Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317 Plantation Preserve Golf Course & Club in Fort Lauderdale, FL is looking for one equipment/shop manager to join our 88 person strong team. We are located on 7050 W Broward Blvd. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, ambitious, and hard-working. Responsibilities The Asst Maintenance Technician execute a comprehensive preventive maintenance and repair program of all Turf Equipment. All employees should be punctual, have good communication skills, have a good attitude, a strong work ethic, and enjoy a team atmosphere. The Asst Maintenance Technician will perform major and minor mechanical repairs on various diesel and gasoline-powered equipment under the general direction of the Golf Course Superintendent. The responsibility of this position is managing specialized work efficiently, with confidence and competence. The position requires above-average attention to detail, concern for the exact correctness of work, and a strong commitment to tasks completed on time. The person in this position will take work seriously, has a strong sense of duty, and is disciplined. A somewhat faster-than-average pace will be the norm for this position. Detailed, specialized work is the major focus. Must pass a Background check and Drug Test. Experience Requirements 2-4 years of Mechanic experience dealing with small engines, mowers, and/or turf equipment. Knowledge of small engine repair. Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely. Ability to inspect equipment and related components. Must be highly motivated, goal-driven, and self-starter. Special Requirements Conduct and effective preventative maintenance program in conjunction with operators to reduce mechanical failure and poor performance on all golf course equipment. Repair of all equipment and golf carts. Keep repair and maintenance records on all equipment. Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical problems for all maintenance equipment. Set heights and sharpen blades on the cutting units. Make cuts, welds and braze as needed in repairing equipment and mowing units. Price comparison on all related parts and materials before ordering. Maintain a clean shop area and keep it orderly and efficient. Maintain an adequate supply of parts through requisitions to the Purchasing Manager. Assure proper disposal of all related hazardous materials. Work with the Superintendent and Assistants to provide quality turf conditions. We are looking forward to reading your application.
