Description
Under direct supervision, the purpose of the position is to provide organization, sanitation, and general maintenance in the assigned area of the assigned Department. Employees in this classification perform general and preventative maintenance work. Position is responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of supplies in the assigned areas.
This position may be assigned to other Parks locations as needed based on department operations.
Days/Hours:
One available shift is for the Tennis Center on Wednesday
- Friday, 5 PM
- 10 PM, Saturday, 10:30 AM
- 3:30 PM (unless there is a tennis tournament, then hours may change). The second available shift is for Neighborhood Parks on Thursday
- Monday, 6 PM
- 10:30 PM.
This position will be needed to assist with Tournaments (typically on Saturday and Sunday); work hours subject to change based on operational needs. Examples of Duties
Opening/Closing buildings, restrooms and park gates.
Drag clay tennis courts to prepare for games.
Inspect Park court/facilities for any safety issues that may be present.
Pick up trash, debris, and palm fronds around the Tennis Facility, including the parking lot.
Clean restrooms; clean all water fountains with stainless steel cleaner; clean and wash out foot station areas.
Fill out daily and weekly logs and inspections.
Drag courts and line ball fields.
Remove trash from trash cans and wipe down lids. Inspect all court lights and notify Parks Coordinator of any that are not working. Fix any loose windscreens on courts. Turn on court/field lights Check to make sure people have the proper permits. Turning off court/field lights at the end of the night.
Complete assignments in a safe and timely manner, meeting quality standards.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, other employees, the public and City officials.
Typical Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent and working knowledge of tools and equipment used in landscaping and grounds keeping work as well as using pressure cleaning equipment Possession of valid Florida driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
