This position offers great opportunity for dynamic, motivated self-starters to work on a variety of assignments. You’ll be a member of our highly respected building department team with a full complement of resources to support you and exciting projects to keep you challenged.
SUMMARY:
This position performs maintenance work and oversight of contractors in all aspects of the maintenance of public parks property including concessions buildings, restroom facilities, maintenance buildings, structures, fencing, parking lots, walkways, playgrounds, signage, lighting, equipment and other hardscape amenities within the city parks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Work, tasks and projects will be assigned by the Maintenance Superintendent or designee. Performs minor repairs to facilities to include, but not limited to, painting, replacing light bulbs, door locks, fencing, soap dispensers, signage, etc. Repairs athletic equipment and other amenities. Maintains and/or supervises the repair and maintenance of playground equipment and surfacing to ensure safe and proper operating condition. ABILITIES
Knowledge of principles, methods, equipment, materials, procedures in maintenance. Ability to develop, coordinate and direct varied projects involved in park maintenance. Knowledge of the occupational hazards of the trade and of proper safety practices. Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing.
REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or GED. Experience in parks or facilities Maintenance preferred. Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License and a good driving record.
